New Believers
Heavenly Father, I thank you for sending Jesus.
Jesus I ask you to come into my heart, forgive me of my sins, I put my trust in you. And I will live for you, from this day forward, by your power, for your glory. In Jesus name, Amen!
wondering about God?
Are you wondering about God?
If you want to know the truth – really know the truth – you are a “seeker.” That’s a great thing to be, because according to Jesus, seekers find what they’re looking for.
Seekers come in all shapes and sizes. They have a variety of backgrounds. Some don’t believe in God; others do believe in God, but aren’t sure how to connect with Him. What all seekers have in common is the fact that they’ve stopped pretending they have it all together. They’re open to the possibility God may exist, and more importantly, that He may want a place in their lives. They know they don’t know – but they want to know.
If you’re a seeker, how do you go about this all-important task of pursuing God and His truth? Well, the following outline doesn’t claim to be the final and authoritative work on the subject. But – with humble recognition that the stakes are sky-high and believing you are very precious to God – here are four questions to help you in your search.
Affirmation of faith
Affirmation of Faith
We believe in God the Father, Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth:
And in Jesus Christ, his only begotten Son, our Lord:
Who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary:
Suffered under Pontius Pilate; was crucified, died and buried:
He descended into hell: The third day he rose again from the dead:
He ascended into heaven, and sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty:
From thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead:
We believe in the Holy Ghost: We believe in the holy Body of Christ:
The communion of saints: The forgiveness of sins:
The resurrection of the body: And the life everlasting. Amen
doctrinal statement
Doctrinal Statement
We Believe that the Bible is the Word of God and contains one harmonious and sufficiently complete system of doctrine. We believe in the full inspiration of the Word of God. We hold the Word of God to be the only authority in all matters and assert that no doctrine can be true or essential, if it does not find a place in this Word.
We Believe in God, The Father Almighty, the Author and Creator of all things. The Old Testament reveals God in diverse manners, by manifesting his nature, character, and dominions. The Gospel in the New Testament give us knowledge of God the “Father” or “My Father”, showing the relationship of God to Jesus as Father, or representing Him as the Father in the Godhead, and distinction of “fatherhood” to all believers when he explains God in the light of “Your father in Heaven” (St. Matthew 6:8 and Romans 10:9-10).
Baptism
Who Should be Baptized?
Baptism is for every believer. One of Jesus’ last instructions to his disciples was to, ‘make disciples and baptize them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.’ If you have accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, you should be baptized.
